Embrace the Undirectable

Director of Curls is more than a resource site—it’s a philosophy born from the beautiful chaos of my own life.

Here, I celebrate the fact that some of the best things in life, from a head full of curls to a brilliant team, simply refuse to be strictly directed. They thrive when they are understood, nurtured, and accepted for their true nature. You can explore more stories and reflections on embracing life’s natural flow on the Director of Curls Blog.

I’m the founder, a full-time Director, a wife, and a very busy mom of four with a passion for patterns, process improvement, and adventure. I find great joy and stamina in juggling a full life, but I’ve also learned that the most rewarding outcomes come from letting go of the need for absolute control.

Embrace Your Natural Curls

This is where my love for continuous learning and developing alternative solutions meets the challenge of managing a crown of curls.
I provide articles, blog posts, and resources inspired by the curly hair journey, exploring themes like:
Acceptance & Appreciation: Embracing the texture, body, and shape of my curls—and my life—as they are.
The Power of Process: Sharing step-by-step routines, product reviews, and techniques, focusing on the joy of learning and refinement over a perfect, final outcome.
The Life Metaphor: Using the twists and turns of curly hair care as a mirror for real-life challenges in leadership, parenting, and personal growth.

Why “Director of Curls”?

The name is an intentional oxymoron and a nod to the life humor I rely on. If you have curls, you know they cannot be directed. If you’ve ever led a team, you know people can’t be directed either.

This platform is dedicated to accepting who you are, celebrating your uniqueness, and appreciating all that life has to offer. It’s about approaching my curls (and my life) with trustworthiness, compassion, and an adventurous spirit that says, “I may not control it, but I’m ready to enjoy the ride.”
